Bike and Walk the New Summit “Rec Route” to Fields, Schools and Downtown
During September, the
City of Summit is installing signage for bikes and motorists on streets connecting Memorial Field, Metro Homes Field, Passaic
River Park, schools and downtown Summit. This Rec Route represents the fastest and safest way to bike or walk to key Summit
destinations. Ongoing publicity and police enforcement will encourage all vehicles to “Share The Road” safely
and responsibly.

If simple safety precautions are followed, walking and biking in Summit are very safe.
Plus, they offer personal health benefits, reduce automobile congestion and emissions, and often are faster than driving,
parking and walking to your final destination! It’s a win-win for the individual and the community.
